Who Can Become
A Pilot?

The requirements to begin pilot training in India are more accessible than most people expect. If you meet these four criteria, you're ready to start.

Age

Minimum 17 years

You can apply for your Student Pilot Licence (SPL) at 16 and begin training. The minimum age to hold a CPL is 18.

✓ You qualify if you're 17+

Education

10+2 with Physics & Maths

You need to have passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics and Mathematics as subjects. Science stream preferred but not always mandatory.

✓ Standard school qualification

Medical

DGCA Class 2 → Class 1 Medical

You'll need a Class 2 medical to train and a Class 1 to hold a CPL. These are conducted by DGCA-approved medical examiners. Most healthy individuals qualify.

✓ We guide you through the process

English

ICAO English Level 4 minimum

Aviation is conducted in English worldwide. You'll need to demonstrate proficiency through an ICAO language proficiency test — conversational English is sufficient to begin.

✓ No formal English exam needed to start
